Superior interfaces and user-centric design to ease the design process

With its simple yet full of essence and powerful graphics output capabilities, midas CIM has an extraordinary graphic rendering, modeling a simple beam and column, one-span PSC BOX, Full Span method bridge, Free Cantilever method bridge, Movable Scaffolding System Bridge, massive and complex cable-stayed bridge, etc., midas CIM can quickly and accurately produce simplified model to see the correct placement to the alignment, then project the model to the layout created instantly. The built-in smart template provides a variety of common bridge forms or bridge construction methods, helping engineers to quickly and accurately build analysis models in a short period of time. With the usual international regulations and Taiwan standards, midas CIM is an indispensable working partner for engineers to further provide beautiful and precise model with addition of hub for other application using API.

Converting 3D model to 2D sheet for printing

With the availability of Drawing View, we can just set drawing layout and slice our model into several part with its own sectional view, which will reveal the amount of tendon and reinforcement made. After connecting the midas CIM to the CAD ID, you can create annotation, dimension, sheet details, etc. necessary on the midas CAD to be ready for printing.

Sectional view created will be available in CAD ID and is updated each time with any modification detected on the CIM. The annotation and dimension can be edited in the CAD ID, and we can isolate specific item in one sectional view, seen below the tendon view is turned off, so that sectional view exclusively for rebar is seen complete with its annotation, dimension, and rebar table.

Unique Parametric Modeling and Alignment

Midas CIM provides ease and flexibility on working the model, as it is easy to drag the dimension of 3D model to enlarge or reduce its size, creating layout alignment and modifying them instantly, with intuitive civil engineering. Importing section created from 2D CAD and it is not limited to just basic model. Creating terrain, slope data to be exported as KMZ and LandXML data, able to be implemented to google earth, and client be able to see the project laid upon the map. Model created also able to be given complicated rebar system, with complete and detailed properties.

Tendon creation also available to be created with coordinate system details, using tendon group, it can be imported to midas Civil NX as analysis case, alongside with construction stage of the model.

Vast Library of Models and ease of use

With many choices of generic library, you can instantly pick and use the component onto your model, and if you need further customization, you can click the member, and edit it in the tree menu. With the presence of unit library (Point and Curve library) for efficient data input and utilization, and creates the final model using a combination of unit libraries (Assembly Unit). Point library based on location reference point, curve library based on alignment, and assembly unit is the combination of them. With the vast generation and constantly updated library, and updated graphics to enhance the experience, It provides a complete experience to ease design process.

Interoperability between all apps using API

Through new data interface and revision update, Midas CIM is a BIM solution that can integrate and optimize the process of civil engineering practices. It supports design engineer to seamlessly connect from start to finish, and quickly update the model within the 3D environment which is also linked to the other element (2D and analysis). The updated graphical function menu and tree menu also quickly find all kinds of instructions, and can also be used with keyboard shortcuts (seen when hovering the cursor to the button) to directly open the corresponding function setting window. The API will connect the midas CAD ID as 2D drawing layout, midas CIM as 3D drawing, midas Civil as analysis tools, and Microsoft excel as data output. This streamlining will be able to expedite the design process, and communication between engineers.

Excel VBA and Midas API Plug-In

Following the addition of interoperability between aforementioned software, we also will add further interoperability feature with VBA on excel, to connect with midas Civil and Midas CIM to create the model with just typing variable number and selecting relevant information such as code, load combination, etc., giving real-time update with subsequent modification of the model. The possibilities are endless with our goal to update them constantly and receiving feedback from our clients. The specific way this tool intended to help our client are to instantly create model with specific coordinate with much details, creating reinforcements and doing repetitive Reinforcement Checking and Design to compare them to given load, creating smart report which will update each time modification is given.
